Launch Ceremony of Off-Highway Powertrain Academy

At the same time, Cummins continues to advance customized services guided by the demands of the Chinese market. Addressing the core needs of local mining customers for efficiency, cost, and reliability, Cummins has achieved in-country research, development, design, and innovation of high-horsepower products, as well as a fully localized end-to-end process from component matching to service support. This time, Cummins fully showcased the latest progress in the localization of its entire range of mining power solutions, covering displacements from 19L to 60L and power ratings from 600 to 3000 hp, meeting emission standards from China III to China IV and Euro II to Euro V. These products serve as main solutions in regions with strict, lenient, or even no emission regulations.
Cummins has developed hybrid systems for engines ranging from 3.9L to 15L, including range extender, P1, P2, and P2.5 configurations. These systems provide differentiated architectures for various applications such as excavators, loaders, mining trucks, rotary drilling rigs, and front cranes, achieving deep integration and control of the 'engine, motor, and battery.' The system improves fuel economy by 10%-30% and extends battery life by over 20%, offering continuous, efficient, and low-emission power solutions for demanding environments such as plateaus, cold regions, and heavy-load conditions.

It is also worth mentioning that the brand-new generation excavator features a hydraulics-matched intelligent control system, developed to meet the dynamic power demands of the excavator. Through active interaction and coordinated control between the engine and hydraulic system, it achieves an energy efficiency improvement of over 10%.

All-new methanol-powered
- Cummins has launched the 19L methanol engine industrial version developed and manufactured by Chongqing Cummins. This represents a significant breakthrough for the multi-fuel engine platform in terms of displacement and fuel options. The product employs a multi-point fuel injection and spark-ignition technology route, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 18% compared to a diesel engine when using regular methanol, and achieving zero carbon emissions when using green methanol.

A continuous power capacity of 500 kW is suitable for 135T-160T wide-body mining trucks or 130-160T large excavators, and can be extended to applications such as power generation and ships. It has the following main performance advantages:
- Innovative cold-start technology solutions enable stable operation in ambient temperatures ranging from -35°C to 50°C;
- Outstanding altitude capability ensures no power loss at 3000m
- Engine oil filter maintenance interval is 500 hours, resulting in low maintenance costs
- Provides integrated range-extending power systems and overall power system solutions
- Shares 19L high-reliability components that are dependable and versatile, facilitating maintenance, with newly designed key parts that are resistant to alcohol and corrosion.
In the field of hybrid power, Cummins' electric drive business can provide users with a complete powertrain for range-extended and plug-in hybrid vehicles, covering range extenders, all-in-one controllers, drive motors, and electric drive axles.
Relying on the advantages of deep integration of the powertrain, Cummins electric drive technology can optimize the energy consumption of hybrid systems and power output in real time according to operating conditions. Moreover, in the pure electric domain, it has deployed two major platforms: central drive and electric drive axle, covering various sub-scenarios in construction machinery. These platforms can be flexibly combined with single motor controllers or integrated controllers, enabling deep customization according to customer needs. All related core components fully support 800V systems, providing customers with excellent power performance.

Cummins continues to advance and upgrade its localization strategy, truly achieving customized services guided by the needs of the Chinese market. Focusing on the core demands of local customers for efficiency, cost, and reliability, Cummins has realized full domestic production of its entire range of mining power solutions, covering displacements from 19L to 60L and power ranges from 600 to 3000 hp. These engines meet emission standards from China Stage III to Stage IV and Euro II to V, making them a key choice in regions with strict, lenient, or even no emission regulations.
