In 1975, the first batch of mining trucks equipped with Cummins high-power diesel engines was put into operation in China, marking the beginning of Cummins' legendary journey in the country. Starting in 1981, Cummins signed its first licensing agreement; by the 1990s, joint ventures and wholly-owned subsidiaries were established in cities such as Chongqing, Xiangyang, and Wuxi. In 2006, Cummins opened an engine technology research and development center in Wuhan, initiating local R&D operations. • Regarding the localization of products, Cummins' high-horsepower engines have achieved comprehensive coverage from 19 liters to 60 liters. In response to the ever-changing market environment and user demands, utilizing this localization capability, a brand new 30-liter product platform will soon be launched, specifically designed for the harsh conditions of mining operations, featuring superior power performance, outstanding reliability, and high fuel efficiency. It is set to be launched in 2026, bringing a new power experience to the mining industry and aiding mining customers in efficient operation and sustainable development.
• The latest multi-fuel powertrain 3.0 has been released, which uses the latest control technology to monitor operating conditions in real-time. Through precise algorithms, it optimizes the coordination of core components such as the engine, after-treatment system, transmission, and rear axle, ensuring that the powertrain system always operates in the optimal efficiency zone under different conditions. With the empowerment of the intelligent brain 3.0 (CBM 3.0), the diesel power system can achieve fuel savings of 1.3% to 6%, while the multi-fuel powertrain 3.0 is compatible with various low-carbon and zero-carbon fuels such as diesel, natural gas, methanol, and hydrogen. The natural gas power system achieves a gas savings effect of 1% to 2%.
